This major software-update to your iPad includes more than 100 new features and innovations, with support for over 50 languages and dialects, and more than 30 new international keyboards and dictionaries.

Apple’s iOS 4.2 Available Today for iPad, iPhone & iPod Touch

On Wednesday iOS 4.2 was released for developers, and one known feature from the iPhone; the volume silencer switch, will replace the screen lock switch. The screen lock orientation feature will in iOS 4.2 be made available via the multitask bar, swiping left. A screen brightness slider will be available along side the screen orientation lock.

Original the screen lock switch was presented as a volume silencer switch – but shortly before the release of the iPad, the switch changed to the present screen lock.

Apple have made a dedicated page at Apple.com describing the new features coming to the iPad, when the iOS 4.2 software for the iPad will be released this November.
