What is this? The iPad is a tablet computer designed and developed by Apple.
It is particularly marketed as a platform for the use of audio and visual media such as books, periodicals, movies, music, and games, as well as web and email content and available as an WiFi only or WiFi+3G network version.
At just under 700 grams, its size and weight are between most contemporary smartphones and laptop computers.
Apple sold about 3 million iPads in the first 80 days after its April 2010 release.
